Another fabulous day in the park. I rode this AM, Beckie was ready to pull out some hair and wanted to ride her newly drive-trained bike. This meant the trailer’s bracket had to go from the Superlight to the Blur, which it did thusly while the tinyHuman was fussing. but something was immediately wrong. beckie was gone, a link was bent…did you say bent? and Kila was only able to pull us about 3 houses back up the street. So we walked back to the garage, and i quickly figured it would be easier to switch the bracket to the Heckler than to fix the Blur’s chain.

and off we went.

much the norm — running, playing, sliding, pre-Superbowl tailgating. til the invention of Speed Sliding, which we need to reserve for those occasions when it is absolutely necessary. Its like an antibiotic — don’t use it for say…a skinned knee…if normal methods of kissing the owey will suffice. This is for serious wounds only.

meanwhile several other kids at the park were running round without their shoes. and suddenly G wanted her shoes off. there is no proof of this “other-child” based decision, but i am pretty sure. real sure, in fact.

so we ran barefooted, and that led to some interventionistic parenting. culminating in “the daddy roll.” there’s a baby, there’s a hill, and there’s me keeping her isolated between my elbows and my hips while we tumble down the slope. i need to adopt a more yoge-esque horse stance, but otherwise its all good. having a laughing giggling tinyHuman that close to me as we spin round and round is very sweet. and dizzy, for both of us.   and then walking back to the bike, she came upon a more direct path that went across the gravelled parking lot. but noted her bare feet, adjust course accordingly. very smart. very smart indeed.

the Heckler is a bitch to pull the trailer uphill, and Beckie sneakied up behind us on the way up Roland.   and then onto the Superbowl.
