The figures below come from a powerpoint presentation written by Microsoft to describe IE8, due out in December.

Memory Requirements

  • Windows Vista – 512MB
  • Windows XP – 64MB
  • Windows Server 2008 – 512MB
  • Windows Server 2003 – 64MB x86; 128MB x64

Why do the current MS OS’s require so much more memory to run IE8?

  1. Yep.. no wonder we’re still on Win XP here;
    WTF requires so much more memory in Vista?

    Linux is looking better N better!
