Palin and the Penis Vote

Sarah Palin disgusts me.   She, herself, in her little podunk state of 670,000, is no big deal.   I’m sure she’s very nice, and there aren’t a lot of Rhodes scholars floating around The Last Frontier to compete with her.

No one will mention how she had a kid at an age that is terribly at risk for Downs syndrome, because that would be sexist.   No one mentions how she chose to do this while the governor of Alaska, or promptly withdrew from the kid to continue her career as an executive, or now has a 17-yr-old daughter living her own dysfunction.   What are your family values?   I won’t hold this against her, who among us will cast the first stone, I sacrifice my tinyHuman for my career too.

But the role she has agreed to play and her complicity in the dumbing down of American is pathetic, wontonly irresponsible; can a person embrace this and not hate themself?   I guess if you are not the reflcetive type, you could.   I don’t want the non-reflective type as President.   I would hope our country could produce better.

Her selection   by the Republicans goes beyond her capabilities, intelligence, or qualifications – of which she is painfully and obviously incredibly average.   Her inclusion on the ticket is about how she plays – cute! hot! spunky! energetic! She’s a pitbull hockey-mom! She’s a car salesman! She’s one of you! She’s a Fox News Anchor!

Intelligent people are revolted by this.   Say it with me: President Palin .   McCain will be the oldest elected President ever.   Odds are one in three that he will die in office.   Palin looks good in a suit, but do you want someone who has never really managed anything much bigger than Mesa, AZ (pop 447,541) to be one bad case of heart-attack-from-a-poledance away from being the most powerful person in the world?

Beckie was surprised how so many women are embracing her, embracing her aura and her persona.   She was surprised how many guys like her cause she’s doable.   Why does this surprise anyone?   This same idiocracy voted for Bush a 2nd time.   The problem with the Democrats is they catastrophically fail to realize how average most Americans are with their decision-making.   The Democrats blew the ’04 election with all of Kerry’s smart book-lernin’ and fancy talk, and they don’t strike me as having fundamentally embraced the lesson in that mistake.   I only hope peole will see in their dimness that things are not working, that they need to change, and that Obama is clearly smarter.

  1. Exactly! She’s being setup as a person they (the GOP)
    can control. (Argentina? Evita?)

With all the stink the media made about ‘Reverend Wrong’ they’ve remained silent on Palins affiliations with the ‘holly roller’ Assy. of God church. Cell Phone Anoiting anyone!?

And dont get me started on her blowing off of the subpeonea’s she’s been served by the Alaskan legislature! No one in the US should be above the rule of law. The current crop of Republicans are for anything ‘but’ the “Republic”.

What about McCain’s skin cancer? he’s got 2-4 years left
    at most.

Just got back from a trip ‘home’… it’s shocking how many
folks just buy into this stuff. You’re one of them Democrats?
(they look at you like you’re a terrorist or something)

Such a sad state of affairs…! I’m with you CB

WASHINGTON — Republican staff members of the US Senate Judiciary Commitee infiltrated opposition computer files for a year, monitoring secret strategy memos and periodically passing on copies to the media, Senate officials told The Globe. >From the spring of 2002 until at least April 2003, members of the GOP committee staff exploited a computer glitch that allowed them to access restricted Democratic communications witho ut a password. Trolling through hundreds of memos, they were able to read talking points and accounts of private meetings discussing which judicial nominees Democrats would fight — and with what tactics.

“They had an obligation to tell each of the people whose files they were intruding upon — assuming it was an accident — that that was going on so those people could protect themselves,” said one Senate staffer. “To keep on getting these files is just beyond the pale.”

My personal favorite moment in the tape is an
off-camera exchange. Police in riot gear have surrounded
loungers in a waterfront park. They announce,
“Ladies and Gentlemen, You’re Under Arrest”
and you hear one young woman say incredulously
    “Are you serious?”

    Yep, I’m afraid they are.

Let me tell you, I have been on the left for thirty
years and you can’t get three lefties to wear the
same t-shirt to a rally, let alone link arms and wear
identical face masks: these are not our guys.
